Scuba – diving into friendship with God!

Join us for Vacation Bible School at Central Lutheran Church this summer!

Who: all kids ages 3 (as of January 1, 2024) thru entering 6th Grade
When: June 24-28

9am-noon each day: traditional VBS with crafts, music, science, games & Bible stories

OPTIONAL – if you’d like your child to stay an extended day until 3:30

12:00-1:00: brown bag lunch & play time

1:00-3:30: New Horizons summer Reading and STEM activities

*And plan to join us Saturday, June 29, 5:00-7:00pm, for a family summer cook-out and VBS celebration complete with fun water activities, hotdogs, and games!

Cost: Free!

Registration

There are separate registrations for VBS and for the afternoon New Horizon’s program.

To register your child(ren) for VBS, please complete a registration form and:

• Email it to our VBS Director, at alesia-r-pearson@swbell.net;
• Drop it off at the church office, open Monday-Friday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm; or
• Mail it to the church, ATTN: Vacation Bible School [1000 Easton Rd, Dallas, TX 75218]

They will also be hosting another summer camp at Central Lutheran July 29-Aug 1, 8:00-3:30 each day. You can register for both a the registration/inquiry link above.

Donation Requests – coming soon!

Let our VBS director (alesia-r-pearson@swbell.net) know or sign up on (Sign up Genius site to be established) if you are able to provide any supplies to assist with VBS. You can also make a financial donation to the church – just be sure to note that it is for VBS.

• Cookies! Friday June 28 join us for a cookie reception! Please sign up to bring 1-2 dozen homemade cookies to share. Familes & friends are invited to join us to enjoy a celebration together at 11:45 on Friday, June 28. The kids will sing some songs and we’ll share some highlights from the week!

Come join us as we explore the ocean and discover truly what a friend we have in God and how we can share that friendship with others!

Curriculum and Schedule

We’ll enjoy time together full of music, crafts, science experiments, Bible stories, games, food, and fun!

Monday, June 24 – God is a friend who is real.

• Bible story – God shows himself to Elijah through ups & downs [1King: 18-19]
• Key Bible verse: “We believe and we know you are the Holy One of God.” [John 6:69]

Tuesday, June 25 – God is a friend who loves

• Bible story – God shows compassion to the people of Nineveh. [Jonah 1-3]
• Key Bible verse: “Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.” [John 13:34
• Memory buddy: Finnley, the Dolphin

Wednesday, June 26 – God is a friend we can trust! 

• Bible story – Jesus calms a storm. [Mark 4: 35-41]
• Key Bible verse: “I am leaving you with a gift – peace of mind and heart.” [John 14:27]
• Memory buddy: Fisher, the Seal

Thursday, June 27 – God is a friend forever.

• Bible story – Jesus dies and comes back to life [John 18-20]
• Key Bible verse: “I am the reserrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.” [John 11:25]
• Memory buddy: Waylon the Whale Shark

Friday, June 28 – God is a friend for everyone!

• Bible story – Lydia believes in Jesus. [Acts 16: 11-15]
• Key Bible verse: “For this is how He loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” [John 3:16]
• Memory buddy: Octavia the Octopus
