February 2024
On February 4 at noon we will have our once-a-month all-ages Sunday School & Lunch. Join us for a salad bar, and discussion of the Bible and our Lutheran heritage. Come join the fellowship and ministry together! All are welcome!
On February 10 at 5:30 pm our “Dining Around” group will meet for dinner at Alfonso’s Italian (718 Buckner Blvd. Suite #222 Dallas, TX 75218 ). To RSVP, please email the church office (central.lutheran.dallas@gmail.com).
On February 12 at 7:00 pm we will have a Lydia Circle meeting in the church library. This group is open to any women who wish to join.
On February 14 from 7:30 to 10:30 am Pastor Veronika will hold Ash Wednesday community office hours at Ascension Coffee (9353 Garland Rd, Dallas, TX 75218). Stop by to grab a coffee, receive your ashes, and chat with Pastor Veronika.
Also on February 14 at 6:00 pm we will have our Ash Wednesday worship service. All will have the opportunity to receive ashes, celebrate Holy Communion, and reflect on the beginning of the Lenten season.
On February 15 at 7:15 pm we will take a field trip of sorts to see a play at the Dallas Theater Center’s Kalita Humphreys Theater (3636 Turtle Creek Blvd, Dallas, TX 75204). The show is a comedy about church life: “I am Delivered’t” written by Jonathan Norton. To RSVP, please email the church office (central.lutheran.dallas@gmail.com)
On February 18 at noon we will have our annual congregational meeting. This is a crucial gathering where we come together as a community to hear the 2023 reports from our dedicated council leaders and to vote for our new council members and the budget for 2024. After the meeting, we’ll continue the fellowship with our much-anticipated annual Chili Cook-Off and Dessert Bake-Off! Bring your best recipes and get ready for a delicious time of tasting and friendly conversations.
On February 21, and 28 at 6:00 pm, we will have our Lenten Vespers and suppers. We come together to worship and reflect on the meaning of Lent. We will have a soup supper at 6:15 and vespers at 7:00. At our midweek Lenten services this year at Central Lutheran we’re excited to offer people of all ages a way into the Psalms, a source of theological depth and wonder used in worship for over 3,000 years. All are welcome for this mid-week refresh.

On March 6, 13, and 20 at 6:00 pm, we will have our Lenten Vespers and suppers. We come together to worship and reflect on the meaning of Lent. We will have a soup supper at 6:15 and vespers at 7:00. On March 17 at 10:30 am we will have our Palm Sunday service*. We will start worship in the memorial garden and then sing God’s praises into the sanctuary.
On March 23 from 9:00 – 11:00 am we will host our Spring Fling. This all-ages event will include two egg hunts (by age), a bounce house, craft tables, and lots of games. Everyone is welcome!
On March 28 at 6:00 pm we will have our Maundy Thursday service marking the night of the Last Supper.
On March 29 at 6:00 pm we will have our Good Friday service marking the suffering and crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
On March 31 at 10:30 am we will celebrate Easter Sunday* in our sanctuary.
