Spring 2018: Lent, Easter & Kids’ Klub
As we enter the season of Lent, we come together for a time of repentance, fasting and preparation for the coming of Easter. It is a time of self-examination and reflection. In the early church, Lent was a time to prepare new converts for baptism. Today, Christians use this time to focus on their relationship with God, often choosing to give up something or to volunteer and give of themselves for others. All are invited to join us for this special season.
Lenten Vespers: “That you may have life: Encountering Jesus in the Gospel of John”
Join us each Wednesday at 6:00pm for a soup supper & 7:00pm for a vesper service – all are welcome!
February 21 & 28, March 7, 14, & 21
March 24 (Saturday) – 4:00pm – choir concert by Midland University Choir in our sanctuary
March 25 – we celebrate Palm Sunday with a neighborhood parade at 9:45am, singing songs & waving palm branches followed by our 10:30 worship. Midland University Choir will be joining us this morning!
March 29 – 7:00pm Maundy Thursday service we’ll join with First United & Bethany at Bethany Lutheran, 10101 Walnut Hill Ln
March 30 – 7:30pm Good Friday Tenebrae, Service of darkness
